ReCAP purchased Generation Fifth Application's Library Archival System (LAS) which controls archival shelving information. LAS was enhanced to satisfy the needs of the consortium members. The item tracking is effective and efficient. LAS's verification checks ensure accurate accessions/verifications, shelving and retrievals. Each item is linked in LAS by the item barcode, the tray barcode, the shelf barcode and the aisle number within the module. These unique barcodes indicate the exact permanent location of the item giving ReCAP a 99.99% item accountability.GFA, located in Kennebunk, Maine provided portable data collection devices and barcode, readers. Other equipment included Dell computers and HP printers. Barcodes thoroughout the facility were supplied by Watson Label Products, St. Louis, Missouri.
